Rawfood Gathering - South Spain

25 Mar - 13 Apr 2010  ★  At eastern we were about 80 sisters and brothers, altogether about 300 people were coming and going. The site we got from a shepherdess; a big meadow, about 1.400 m high at the South site of the Sierra Nevada, the highest mountains of Spain mainland, 25 km air-line distance to the Mediterranean coast. Therefore it was more cold than at the Gathering from the year before; 3 times in the morning the gras was a bit frozen. Who wanted more mild nights, slept in the goats house or in the tipi at the fire. As well we had one day and one night a heavy storm; in the next morning all tents at the wind side were broken. Rain we had only two times very less.

All in all we had nice weather with much sun. Amazing musicians animated to dance at the fire. There were a lot of workshops, for example 2 sweat lodges, 5 wild plants walks, workshops about communication and in the morning Yoga. In the last day we made a vision circle and decided:
* In May/June we'll make a Healing Gathering (not only raw food) in North Spain
* The summer rawfood Gathering in Germany we postpone: 18 Aug to 08 Sept 2010
* The next rawfood Gathering in South Spain is at 05 Apr to 03 May 2011
* The food circles are completely vegan (for example no honey)
* No dogs, because we eat the wild plants, and our kitchen is always open
* In the access of the Gatherings we'll make an infoboard

Some statements: " Of course more warmth would be more nice. But all in all I like this site much more than the site of the year before: more space for movements, water directly at the place, the wonderful view, the good air..." - "Windy and cold, less people, hardly any children - for me this time I flet not fine on the Gathering" (he went after the storm) - "Thank you! Thanks for all. Thanks for the healthy greens, for the sweet potatoes... wow... Food, fire, flowers, nature. All here is nice, each minute, each person. See you soon!"

Walkabout - South Spain

16 - 24 Apr 2010  ★  After the Rawfood Gathering some of us stayed a few days more on the Gathering place, other went to the Hippie-villages "Beneficio" or "El Morreon". Three days later we came together again in Beneficio, and 17 of us started a walkabout to Nerja on the coast. Three other participants arrived too late; they started a day later. I couldn't participate because of a muscle injury in my leg. The first days were quite rainy, and there were discussions about going further or staying? On the other hand there were wonderful natural paradises, an amazing big cave, a generous chirimoya farmer... After 4 days they arrived finally the Mediterranean coast - and got more dry weather and a reunion: The both groups met again! From now the participants found together and enjoyed the nice beaches and the paths along the coast. I wished I was with them.

 

Walkabout 08 - 14 Aug - South Germany

Sunday 08 Aug, 4 pm  ★  On the Camping place "Hüttenhof" close to Rosenberg/Stuttgart: After one week raw food meeting 6 sisters and 10 brothers come together for a Walkabout; we make an Om-Circle, talk about our intention and start.
8 pm: In a forest before the village Abtsgmünd we decide to sleep there. Eva leaves; she is not appropriate equipped against cold.
9 pm: astonishment: a further wanderer finds us! It's Stefan; he came at 6 pm to the starting point, went in the direction which is declared in the invitation and heard our voices.
Monday, 7 pm: We meet a couple from Slovakia; they came too late to the starting point as well, but before they gave us their telephon number. They came by hitch hiking from Slovakia! (However, at wednesday they leave, because the daughter in Slovakia is longing for her mother).
Tuesday: We walk only about 10 km per day, because often some of us becomes weak and needs a rest. But where is the problem? Who wants to walk more, can make an excursion! All of us seem to be satisfied. Some of us are excellent singers. In Lautern the church is open; we give us an mitday concert.
Wednesday: We reach the northern edge walking path of the Swabian Mountains - mostly a little path through the forest, sometimes there is a nice view - really recommendable!
Thursday forenoon: After three dry days we get a rain challenge. Since yesterday evening always rain. Some of us have wet clothes, because their equipment is not optimal, some other are not in the mood for continuing. One after the other leaves. Armin is already some hours on the way: He walks on one day with wet clothes the 40 km back to the camping place, where he left his car! He is accustomed to make long way walking tours. 8 people of us are staying. We nestle, visit each other, read books... The rain is decreasing; at 1 pm we start.
Friday evening: goodbye fire after a nice walking day. Exciting talk about love and sex.
Saturday 14 Aug, forenoon: We walk down to the town Bad Boll. Much black berries, currants, gooseberries and apples. In Bad Boll we get in a bus to the town Göppingen. There some of us are going home by train, the 4 other are driving to the town Schopfheim, to participate in the Rawfood Gathering (see below).

 

Rawfood Gathering - South Germany

18 Aug - 08 Sept 2010  ★  Up to 60 people came to this Gathering; all in all about 150 brothers and sisters were coming and going. The place is a separate meadow, surrounded by big old spruce trees. The farmer gives it since 5 years mainly to boy scout groups. Partially there is a wonderful view to the Alps. Downside there is a little brook, and with a 15 m long tube we created a shower. Workshops there were often one after the other: Yoga, Tai Chi,massage, Contact dancing, 6 herbal walks etc. Because 850 m high, the weather was sometimes rainy and cold. Especially on the 30 Aug; on this day about 25 from 55 people went. But me and others had no problem; its a nice feeling of independence to be flexible. To have a tipi would be surely helpful. But in the next days the sun came out, and new people arrived.

Some statements: "I had to go home, to France, was a bit sad and I considered, when the next Rawfood Gathering would be. But soon all things at home were finished, and I realized, that the Gathering is going on! So I packed my things again came back, and now I'm happy to be here with you again!" - "So separated, so quiet, so free from civlisation light, such a spot is seldom in Germany to find!" - You're all wonderful, I love you all!"
