Cueva del Daire

You need a sleeping bag, which is still comfortable at +3 degrees Celsius. The reward at the end is a hot spring with several baths and a massage by a hot water fall... If you want, we can walk 14km on Saturday, 8 Mar, from 7:30 am to 11:30 from beach to beach to the church in El Morche, otherwise you can get by bus to El Morche. We will start at the church on Saturday, 8 Mar, at 4 pm, after a German church service (12 noon) and a choir rehearsal (2 pm), in which I participate with my music (if you want you can join).

We hike the first 20 km near the Río Torrox river and sleep somewhere along the way. We will probably find almonds, olives and maybe some fruit to eat there. Then we cross a mountain range, the highest point is 1250 m high. We spend the second night in the Cueva del Daire cave, which offers us some protection from the cold. On the other side of the mountain range, we hike through a few villages and along a reservoir, always on small paths. After 80 km from El Morche, we reach the hot spring. There may be a lift for the way back. Otherwise we will walk to the bus stop in Alhendín.

Our motivation

With our walkabouts we connect with nature. We are as close to nature as possible. We live in nature with as few resources as possible. That's why we sleep outside and only protect ourselves from the rain with a tarp (if necessary). We eat vegan raw food, we find it partly in nature. I mostly go barefoot, which I also feel is a connection with nature. Everyone walks their own spiritual path. The only condition for participation is peaceful coexistence, the desire to connect with nature and a raw food diet.

Physical requirement

We walk about 15 to 20 km per day. On the second and third day we have to tackle a few climbs. Please remember to take little luggage with you.

Things to bring

As little as possible! What we need is proper protection from sun and rain, a sleeping bag (temperature rating minimum 3 Degree Celsius at night), an isolation mat, a sun hat, a bit fitness, love and peace. We will find food in nature and buy in the villages. It's good to bring raw seeds and nuts, because we will not find them in the villages. Even better would be to sprout and dry them or to make raw crackers. See Sprouting Tips.
Please don't bring bought flakes (they're heated), nor bread, cakes, other heated food, animal products, tobacco, drugs, books... Please bring only things that are light and absolutely necessary.

Rain protection

I recommend to bring neither a tent nor a raincoat but a poncho-tarp! It has only 300 g and protects you day and night from rain. If a lot of rain is forecast, we will postpone or cancel the hike.
