Cabo de Gata  ★  11 people participated in this Walkabout, including 2 children of 5 and 6 years. They needed more breaks than the adults but it was working; it was a beautiful tour for all participants! The landscape is wonderful; there are little trees because of the dry climate, but beautiful secluded beaches and rocks. Cabo de Gata is a Nature Park and Biosphere Reserve with small mountains at the Mediterranean coast South of the town Almerรญa. We walked from Salinas Almadraba de Monteleva (close to San Miguel de Cabo de Gata) to Carboneras, about 60km, always close to the coast.

We found many herbs to eat, some mild ones for eating in bigger amounts like Malva, others more salty or spicy. We found little fruits, only some wild palm fruits. Therefore we bought every day in the villages fruits, vegetables, nuts and also some cheese from raw milk. Also water we needed to buy, because we found only one spring in the valley of the hippy village San Pedro (which we found in a beautiful state).

Next year we want to do it again, in the opposite direction!
