Alhama Walk

South Spain: Málaga - Alhama de Granada - Nerja ★ We were 3 persons and started this Walkabout from Malaga towards Alhama de Granada by walking one day along the coast from beach to beach. Then, we went inland for 3 days through agricultural areas and more forested areas.

What a joy to be able to appreciate the presence of the sun on the edge of a pretty lake, to taste a good raw goat's milk cheese coming directly from the farm, to eat almonds under the trees ! Nature offered us fruit such as oranges, nisperos, avocados... And what a happiness, after a few cool and windy nights, to be able to warm up in the heart of Alhama's hot spring

To get to our home, close to Nerja at the Mediterranean coast, we went over the mountains, up to 1,300 m high. It was a completely different landscape: no house, no agriculture, pure nature, wonderful views. The paths were partially difficult and we got some rain, even a bit of snow! So, we were happy to find a ruin with roof and dry wood inside, we made a fire, dried our wet things and warmed up. And, afterwards, the sun came out. All the 3 participants agreed: It was an adventurous but beautiful Walkabout!
